Crowley Tapped to Distribute Avision Scanners

Frederick, Md. – Company president Christopher Crowley announces today that The Crowley Company has been selected to distribute the Avision scanner product line throughout North America.

For more than three decades, The Crowley Company has been known as a premier distributor of production-level microform, book and document scanners as well as analog duplicators, processors and archive writers. Crowley reflects, “A decade ago, the digitization of files and records was primarily a high-end function of records managers and archivists. Today, the world is digital and every organization, no matter the size, requires an affordable solution to best digitize, share and archive records and correspondence. As Electronic Content Management [ECM] and file-sharing software innovations gain prevalence, organizations are moving from centralized systems – such as scanning in a mail-room – to decentralized capture solutions with a scanner on every desk.”

Crowley continues, “We have been the exclusive North American distributor of InoTec document scanners for over half a decade, providing high-end quality and production solutions to organizations looking to digitize large volumes at high throughput speeds. Adding Avision scanners to the Crowley product line broadens the rotary and flatbed solutions we are able to offer larger firms requiring higher quantities of units or smaller firms with limited budgets and lower-volume capture needs per station.”

The Crowley Company manufactures Mekel Technology, Wicks and Wilson, HF Processor and Extek Microsystem brand capture systems and also operates Crowley Imaging, one of the largest service bureaus in the nation. “The distinct advantage that we bring to a client,” says Crowley, “is our position as both manufacturer and end-user. We use in our service bureau what we engineer and manufacture in our R&D facilities. This leads to greater customer empathy and a unique understanding of their needs. With this in mind, the Avision product line fits perfectly with our mission to provide the best in front-end capture whether it takes place in an independent office, a commercial enterprise, a university library or a public or private archive. Our goal is to have a capture solution for every need and every budget.”

Crowley’s Avision product line will consist of high-speed desktop and departmental scanners, intelligent/portable scanners and network units. Energy Star compliant, all Avision scanners are ISIS, TWAIN and Kofax compliant and can interface with any software application using Avision’s exclusive Button Manager, a one-step image to application functionality.
