Crowley, InQbar Form Scanning Services Joint Venture

crowley-inqbarFrederick, Maryland and Bogota, Colombia – Company president Christopher Crowley announced today that Crowley Micrographics, dba The Crowley Company, has entered into a formal joint venture agreement with InQBar Ltda. to pursue scanning and archiving projects in Colombia, South America and the Andean market. “Our Mekel Technology and other manufactured products enjoy a very positive worldwide reputation,” states Crowley. “This partnership presents an opportunity to pair Crowley’s extensive scanning services knowledge, as well as our equipment, with a respected entity outside of the United States.”

For Javier Barrera, owner of InQBar, this joint venture “allows our firm to add the considerable technology and expertise The Crowley Company offers to our own base of operations for the good of the archival world in eastern South America.”

The partnership will allow InQBar to pursue large-scale conversion projects, including those from all media (paper, microform, books, etc.) to digital and from the conversion of digital-born files to microfilm. Crowley Imaging will digitize or microfilm more than 250 million images in the U.S. this year.
