The RICOH fi-8040 workgroup document scanner has an ADF capacity of 50 sheets with handling paper weights of 40 to 209 gsm (11 to 56 lb). Plastic cards up to a thickness of 0.7 mm can be read as well. The CIS sensor and GI images processing engine produce high quality images by suppressing the occurrence of color shifts. Clear Images Capture software increases image definition for data extraction without using extra power.
